Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist severely injured in Tamarac.
At approximately 6:55 a.m. Friday, August 6, BSO deputies responded to a call regarding a hit-and-run crash in the 5700 block of West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac. When deputies arrived at the scene they found an adult male lying on the roadway with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a 2013-2019 Nissan Pathfinder SUV, silver in color, was traveling eastbound on West Commercial Boulevard. The bicyclist was traveling west in the designated eastbound bicycle lane when he was struck by the Nissan Pathfinder SUV. The driver fled the scene. The bicyclist was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
