Cape Coral Police Department-Arrest Made In Animal Cruelty Death


On June 15, 2020 around 4:15 pm, Officers were dispatched to Garden Boulevard and NE 24th Avenue after a Sheba Inu was found deceased with its mouth taped closed with electrical tape.

On June 16, 2020 around 12:20 am, the Cape Coral Police Department received a call from William Hilyard, after seeing a story about his dog on the news. After Talking with Hilyard, Officers developed probable cause to arrest Hilyard for Aggravated Animal Cruelty in the death of his Sheba Inu.

Hilyard was transported to the Lee County Jail.
