Cape Coral Police Department- Male Arrested For Possession And Transmission Of Child Pornography

August 10, 2020) – The Cape Coral Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit arrested a man on several child pornography-related charges after an investigation.

CCPD Major Crimes Detectives received a tip from The National Center For Missing and Exploited Children regarding an email user transmitting child pornography by email. Detectives assumed the investigation and revealed the email user to be Don Oakes (W/M, DOB: 4-7-91).

Based on the tip and subsequent investigation, detectives were able to secure subpoenas and search warrants for Oakes’ accounts and devices. This resulted in Oakes being charged with five felony counts of possession of child pornography as well as five felony counts of transmission of child pornography over the Internet. He was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.
