Cape Coral School Resource Officer Presents At The Florida Association of School Resource Officers Training Conference

It is imperative for School Resource Officers (SROs) to remain current with policing topics and trends in schools across the country. The Florida Association of School Resource Officers (FASRO), sponsored a training conference for July 20th-24th in Orlando.

Cape Coral Police Department SRO Joseph Zalenski was a presenter at this year’s conference. His presentation was titled “A Guide to Social Media and Relationships for the SRO”. SRO Zalenski presented for two hours and covered ways SRO’s can highlight the work and positive relationships SRO’s have developed with students and the school’s employees through the use of Social Media platforms. SRO Zalenski kept the audience’s attention and was also thanked by SRO’s who attended the presentation.

SRO Zalenski is assigned to Caloosa Elementary School, where he takes the safety and well being of everyone in his school very seriously. SRO Zalenski has been published several times in Police One magazine regarding topics relating to SROs.
