CCSO HONORS FLAG DAY – At CCSO we make it our duty to honor the flag every day of the year.

Although we encourage the wonderful citizens of Citrus County to do the same on their own, today we would like to take a moment to honor our nation’s flag alongside you.

Every year June 14th marks not only the patriotic homage to our country’s flag but the freedom that it symbolizes. Our flag is a representation of our country’s loyalty, and the devotion to liberty and justice for all.

Display your American flags proudly today and please join us in showing your patriotism by watching and understanding the meaning behind the video below.

Be sure to leave a comment telling us what Flag Day means to you!

——————————————————————————————————

“No greater symbol encapsulates the spirit of America. Fifty stars stitched together on a sea of blue represents the diversity of our nation and our union as one.

Thirteen stripes symbolize our nation’s rich history and remind us of our forbearers and those who gave it all.

The combination of stars and stripes are sewn together to make our flag. Our flag waves in the wind, blowing free, symbolic of the freedoms bestowed on each citizen of this great nation.

Two hundred and forty-three years ago, the Second Continental Congress made this flag our country’s symbol.

Today, Flag Day, we reflect on those who came before us and we stand to honor those men and women who fought to keep this nation free. We again take our sacred oath to our flag and Pledge our loyalty to this nation.

I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States if America,
And to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God,
indivisible
With liberty
And justice
For all.”
