MOVE OVER, FLORIDA! – One of the most dangerous things you can do on the road is refraining to move over/slow down for emergency vehicles.
In Florida, it is the LAW to move over a lane, when you can safely do so, for stopped law enforcement, emergency, sanitation, utility service vehicles, tow trucks, or wreckers.
Moving over is the best option, but if you can’t, be sure to slow down to a speed that is 20 MPH less than the posted speed limit.
If the posted speed limit is already 20 MPH, drop your speed to 5 MPH.
Don’t put yourself and others at risk – practice safe driving habits and MOVE OVER.
