Sheriff Rambosk and the men and women of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office are providing this statement of continued commitment to the people of Collier County:
We join the Florida Sheriff’s Association in condemning the actions and as important, the inactions of the officers of the Minneapolis Police Department that were involved in the horrific death of Mr. George Floyd. We offer our condolences to Mr. Floyd’s family, friends and to his community.
The actions and inactions of these officers in Minneapolis are unacceptable for any human beings to engage in and especially for our law enforcement officers who are entrusted with authority by our communities and are rightfully held to a higher level and standard of responsibility and accountability.
In Collier County, our community has developed a foundation of engagement with trust in each other that we will all do everything in our collective powers to do the right thing. Every member of your Collier County Sheriff’s Office is honored to be part of that community-wide culture of partnerships and commitment to have the best community and to always be exploring ways to improve so that our community can thrive and everyone can call Collier County a great and safe place.
Now, more than ever, our Collier County Sheriff’s Office mission statement guides us to be the best men and women and the most professional law enforcement officers we can be:
