A 44-year-old woman faces felony charges after deputies say she stole thousands of dollars’ worth of designer handbags from an East Naples department store.
Christina Rosen Traeger of 2777 Shoreview Drive, East Naples, was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand theft $750-$5,000 in connection with two incidents in June and July at Bealls, 3701 U.S. 41 E. She also was charged with a felony for cutting the anti-theft device on the purses.
According to Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrest reports, Traeger stole three designer bags from the vintage handbag section of the store on June 11. Store security video shows her entering the store and placing two Gucci bags and one Louis Vuitton bag into a large purse she had placed on the bottom of her shopping cart. She then left the store without paying for the purses that were concealed in her bag.
Traeger is shown on store security video using similar tactics to steal a Gucci bag and a Louis Vuitton bag on July 17, reports said.
Detectives located Traeger on Tuesday and placed her under arrest.
