Re: Notification of Law Enforcement Training

Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies will be participating in a training exercise on Thursday, 02-06-2020, from 7 a.m. through 9 a.m. in the area of Commercial Way and Cortez Boulevard (US-19 & SR-50).
During the training exercise, citizens may see an increased number of law enforcement vehicles in the area and/or at local businesses, including Weeki Wachee Springs.
There is no need for concern as the deputies are participating in a training exercise only. During the short training period, there will be NO loud sounds/noises that would cause concern.
If any citizen observes something they believe to be illegal activity occurring in this area, during this time, they should call the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at 352-754-6830 or 9-1-1 for emergencies.
