
Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis used his line item veto power to eliminate $131,281,341 from Florida’s 2019-2020 budget. If you would like a complete list of the items eliminated from the budget, click here.
Hernando County was hit hard by DeSantis’ veto power. Some of the items vetoed include:
- A bill passed by the Senate (Senate Form 1654) and House (HB 4289), that would have provided $1,000,000 to Hernando Schools Vocational Program, was struck down by the Governor’s pen.
- Hernando County School District, School Hardening (Senate Form 1509) (HB 4165) — $1,000,000.
- Brooksville Replacement of Fire Trucks and Equipment (Senate Form 1500) (HB 4161) — $325,000.
