Update #1 – Detectives Investigating Early Morning Armed Robbery at Wawa in Brooksville
Hernando County Sheriff’s detectives continue to follow up on several leads they have developed thus far.
At this point in the investigation, detectives have obtained knowledge that the suspect was possibly “casing” other businesses in the hours prior to the Armed Robbery at the Wawa.
Detectives ask that store clerks remain vigilant to suspicious persons and/or suspicious vehicles and to report same to law enforcement immediately. The telephone number to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is 352-754-6830, in the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

Original Information – 07-07-20
On 07-07-20 just after 5 a.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Wawa, located at 20101 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville, regarding an Armed Commercial Robbery.
Preliminary investigation reveals a white male, who was concealing his identity, entered the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.
Immediately following the robbery, the male entered a vehicle that was waiting in the parking lot and fled the area.
