Re: Deputies Charge Three Juveniles with Armed Robbery
Date: January 29, 2020
On 01-28-2020 just before 9 p.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Hernando County Public Library located at 9220 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill regarding an Armed Robbery.
Upon arrival, deputies met with the victims, a male and a female, in the parking lot of the library. The victims told deputies they responded to the library to sell a firearm they had previously listed on line. When the interested party (which consisted of three male juveniles) arrived to purchase the firearm, the victims quickly realized they were juveniles and refused to sell the firearm. An altercation ensued.
During the altercation, one of the juveniles produced a firearm and pointed it at the victims.
The female victim, who was lawfully carrying a concealed firearm, quickly drew her own firearm in self-defense, causing all three juveniles to flee the area in the vehicle they arrived in. The victims provided a thorough vehicle description and tag number to deputies.
Deputies quickly located the suspect vehicle in the area of Drysdale Street and Polk Avenue in Spring Hill. All three suspects were then taken into custody.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies located two BB guns, two masks, THC cartridges, and approximately $3,000 worth of counterfeit currency.
Parents of each of the three suspects were notified and present during the interview of their respective child.
The suspect vehicle, a 2018 Toyota Corolla, was inoperable when deputies located it. Investigation revealed the vehicle sustained damage when the driver fled from the library. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
All three juveniles, 10th grade students at Central High School, were arrested on scene and charged as follows:
Randy Gordiani W/M DOB/12-20-2002
o Armed Robbery
Darrion D’Von Kyler B/M DOB/10-15-2002
o Armed Robbery
o Possession of Controlled Substance
o Possession of Counterfeit Notes
Earsel Leron Waddy Jr. B/D DOB/12-31-02
o Armed Robbery.
All three juveniles were transported to the juvenile detention facility in Ocala.
Contributed by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Department.
