EOC Alert 1 — Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine
CURRENT SITUATION
The National Hurricane Center has initiated advisories on Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, currently moving west at 23 mph and maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.
It is expected to become a tropical storm by Wednesday. As the system does not yet have a well-defined center, it is too soon to specify the intensity of the storm at landfall.
Exact timing remains uncertain however, the majority of the Florida peninsula is now within the five-day cone of uncertainty. Residents are encouraged to continue to monitor the progress of this system and ensure they have their disaster plan in place.
