Republic Services has had a lot of problems in Hernando County. However, that didn’t stop them from asking county commissioners for a rate increase. The discussion by commissioners didn’t take long.
They voted no to increasing rates.
County Commissioner Steve Champion told the audience that 90 percent of the calls he gets have to do with poor pickup service from Republic.
Other commissioners echoed Champion’s frustration. The final vote, 5-0 for NO!
