The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that took place Monday afternoon on Interstate 4. At approximately 3:30 p.m. on August 24, 2020, HCSO deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a call of shots fired on I-4 eastbound near McIntosh Road. At this time, a vehicle with a victim inside of it, arrived at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. A shooting victim was unresponsive upon arrival and later succumbed to their injuries. Originally, the Florida Highway Patrol was investigating the shooting incident. However, HCSO will now investigate the homicide.
