On November 14, 2020, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Marathon gas station located at 14010 North Cleveland Avenue in reference to a robbery.

Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit also responded and quickly got to work.

Detectives learned that the suspect asked the clerk to purchase a pack of cigarettes. While bagging the cigarettes, the suspect aggressively snatched the shopping bag from the clerk and ran from the store. The entire crime was caught on video surveillance.

Shortly after, members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended a suspect in a robbery investigation that occurred within Fort Myers Police Department’s jurisdiction. The suspect was identified as Isaiah Lee Correa (DOB 11/24/2004).

Violent Crimes detectives were able to determine that Correa was also the suspect that committed the November 14th robbery. Isaiah Lee Correa was subsequently charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching.

Thanks to the work of our dedicated team, another potential robbery was prevented.
