A 32-year-old homeless Key West man was arrested early Thursday after breaking into Boondocks Grille and Draft House.
Brian Kevin Barrow, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida, was charged with burglary, theft and trespassing.
Deputies Jonathan Lane, Christopher Schwartz and Anthony Buscemi as well as a U.S. Border Patrol agent responded to the business at approximately 12:40 a.m. after an alarm was activated. An operator from the alarm company was able to provide a description of the intruder in the business by using security cameras.
A man was located standing by the plaza adjacent to Boondocks and identified as Barrow. Barrow admitted to walking through the restaurant. The owner arrived and said everything appeared to be in place except for a register drawer that appeared to be damaged. Security video showed Barrow reaching where the registers were located as he walked around the establishment. Deputies noted the business was clearly closed at the time.
Barrow was taken to jail.
