On June 13, 1997, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was called to a disturbance in the parking lot of a business called Sluggers, in the area of 16440 South Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers. Deputies arrived on scene and encountered a male who was deceased. Detectives were notified and they assumed the investigation. The decedent was later identified as James Earl Green, date of birth 10/19/1970. The death was determined to be a homicide.
