Citrus County, FL) Today, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) recognizes the many accomplishments of Transcriber Jamie Brooks as she retires from nearly 19 years of faithful service to the citizens of Citrus County.

“Ms. Brooks has truly excelled in her career with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. We are humbled to have worked alongside such a remarkable colleague,” said Sheriff Prendergast. “Stay safe and we wish you the best in your future aspirations.”

Ms. Brooks began her career with CCSO in August of 2002 as a Communications Officer, answering the calls for service from Citrus County citizens needing assistance. Three years later, Ms. Brooks would go on to fill a vital role at our Staff Services office as a Staff Assistant where she successfully helped in the ordering and distribution of various equipment and safety gear for CCSO personnel.

In 2018, Ms. Brooks decided to make yet another pivotal career move to become a Report Transcriptionist, aiding in the creation and accuracy verification of deputies’ reports. Her role in this department supported the very pillar of our law enforcement operations as it allowed deputies to complete reports with a quick turnaround time so they could focus more on proactively patrolling our community.

Throughout her career, Ms. Brooks has exemplified our value of service above self. She received multiple perfect attendance awards for her devotion to our mission and was recently honored with a Certificate of Commendation for her dynamic role in Operation Coin Toss; a successful yearlong campaign targeting drug dealers in Citrus County which resulted in historic, record-breaking busts.

Please join us in congratulating Jamie Brooks on her noteworthy career and well-earned retirement.
