TRAFFIC CRASH IN TAMARAC LEAVES ONE DEAD

A motorcycle crash in West Park left two people dead and one injured early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:05 a.m. March 1, Oscar Boatwright was driving a 2015 Harley Davidson heading eastbound in the 4000 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard in West Park. As he proceeded to make a U-turn at Southwest 40th Avenue to head west on Hallandale Beach Boulevard, he was struck in a T-bone collision by a 2015 Kawasaki ZX1400 driven by Michael McKenzie.
Both drivers, who were wearing their helmets, were ejected from their motorcycles. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue pronounced Boatwright and McKenzie deceased on scene.
Following the collision, flying debris struck another motorcyclist. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported Leroy Carrigan to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
The traffic homicide investigation continues.
