“Our detectives did an outstanding job identifying the suspects in this string of vehicle burglaries,” stated Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “My team is committed to investigating these crimes and will work non-stop to put those responsible behind bars.”
Between December 5 and December 10, 2020, a string of conveyance burglaries were reported in the area of Homestead Road and Marblebrook in Lehigh Acres.
Due to the nature of these incidents, East District Criminal Investigations Division Detectives began a burglary operation to track down the suspects.
Further investigation revealed witnesses who identified one of the suspects as Adrian Martinez (DOB 9/11/07).
After a thorough investigation by East CID, East Intel, East Set and CRU, deputies were able to identify Justin Vargas (DOB 9/10/04) as an additional suspect.
Martinez was charged with 11 counts of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, four counts of petty theft, and two counts of grand theft.
Vargas was charged with one count of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and one count of petty theft.
Thanks to the hard work by our East CID Detectives, both Martinez and Vargas were transported to the Lee County Jail.
